Kamu Grugier-Hill is looking to be a name fans may have to learn how to pronounce. In an interview today with 94 WIP, he discussed his recent weight gain and the role he hopes to fill for the Eagles this upcoming season. Kamu stated he had gained roughly 15 pounds this offseason, which will allow him to have a bigger presence on the defensive side of the ball. Even more surprising is he has not lost any of his quickness despite this weight gain, citing the GPS on his equipment showing no change in speed from 2017 to 2018.
After the impressive showing in last week’s preseason game, Grugier-Hill identified his goal of starting on defense and helping out at arguably one of the thinnest corps on the team. He also went on discuss his chance to shine in the regular season with Nigel Bradham’s suspension for an important Week 1 game versus the Atlanta Falcons. Kamu has proven his ability to play special teams at a high level, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to hold his own as a defensive starter in the NFL.
Kamu Grugier-Hill will try to secure his a starting role as the Eagles face the Patriots in New England this Thursday.
