Nick Foles Set to Play Thursday

When Nick Foles hurt his shoulder in last Thursday’s preseason game against the Patriots, Eagles fans everywhere collectively held their breath. In a normal situation,  a back-up quarterback getting hurt wouldn’t be the end of the world. But since the Eagles still aren’t sure about Carson Wentz’s status for Week 1,  Foles may be required to step in and be the starter for at least the first game of the regular season.

Fans got to finally breath a sigh of relief as it was revealed that Foles only strained his shoulder in the game. The injury was so insignificant that Foles is healthy enough to get back out on the field, and that’s exactly what will be happening on Thursday.

Foles will get a chance to knock off some of the rust that he was trying to shake in the Patriots game, as he went 3/9 for 44 yards. He looked like he was getting into a groove on the last drive, but the strip-sack and injury took him out of the game before that could happen. Now Foles will have a full half of football with first and second-string players to help him be in game-shape in case he needs to start against Atlanta on September 6th.
