With their first game just four days away, the Eagles are dealing with an injury to their starting RB Jay Ajayi. Ajayi missed today’s practice with a lot injury, but talked to reporters afterwards and said he will play in Thursday’s game.
Jay Ajayi said he’ll practice tomorrow. Had a foot issue. Says he’ll play Thurs. #Eagles

Since Ajayi knows he will practice tomorrow, it appears to be a pretty minor injury, but it’ll be interesting to see if it nags him at all in the game on Thursday. This is an important year for Ajayi, as he is in his contract year. As long as he is healthy enough to run, he will do everything he can to play as much as possible this year in hopes of landing himself a long-term contract with a team this offseason.
I still think it will be RBBC but they’re establishing a mentality for Ajayi, who looks to be in line for the most work, assuming health.

The team has already made it known that Jay Ajayi will be “the guy” this season. If health gets in the way though, the team won’t hesitate to go to a running back by committee approach with Corey Clement and Darren Sproles mixed into a rotation.
