Seems like the Eagles can’t catch a break when it comes to getting back to full strength. Head coach Doug Pederson confirmed in his Friday morning press conference that running back Darren Sproles will miss his third straight game with a hamstring injury.
“We tested Darren this week and he’s not there yet” said Pederson.
There is a silver lining though, as Pederson confirmed Jay Ajayi will play thru his back injury on Sunday. With a small fracture in his back, there’s no questioning Ajayi’s toughness, but it’s fair to question how effective he’ll be playing with that type of pain.
Wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey also missed his second straight practice with a virus that’s apparently making its way around the Eagles locker room. DE Michael Bennett missed practice earlier this week with the illness.
Although it’s discouraging for Jeffrey to be missing practices this close to game day, it sounds like he will still suit up on Sunday. That’s very welcomed news for Carson Wentz and an Eagles offense that can really benefit from Jeffrey’s playmaking abilities.
