This is the fifth year of the award’s existence, and according to the NFL:
“The award is presented each year to a player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition, with the winner receiving a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of his choice.”
In his short time in the NFL, Wentz has demonstrated excellent on-field sportsmanship along with integrity in competition. He should have a fair shot at coming home with the award.
The winner will be announced during the NFL Honors show, which takes place the night before Super Bowl LIII.
