Eagles “Pretty Likely” to Play Vikings on Thanksgiving

It’s never too soon to start thinking about next season. Even though the Eagles don’t know the exact layout of their 2019 schedule yet, they do at least know their opponents. Yesterday one part of their schedule appeared to be announced, as a  report came from the Star Tribune in Minnesota that the Minnesota Vikings are set to face the Eagles on Thanksgiving:

“I didn’t actually write about this but I have heard that Minnesota vs. Philadelphia is one that’s in play…It’s not dead set, but I’m told that it’s pretty likely.” – John Ourand (Sports Business Journal)

The Detroit Lions always play the early afternoon game on Thanksgiving, and the Dallas Cowboys are always in the late afternoon slot, which means the Eagles and Vikings will have the late game if this report ends up being true.

This would bode well for the Eagles, as they have the best win percentage (.857%) on Thanksgiving of teams with more than 2 games played on the holiday (6-1 all-time). Eagles fans can likely enjoy the game while eating some dessert from their Thanksgiving dinners, or maybe work on their 4th or 5th plate of food while watching the game.
