Eagles Sign Ronald Darby to 1-year Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed cornerback Ronald Darby to a one-year deal reportedly worth 8.5 million dollars.

The deal works out nicely for both sides.

For Darby, he gets the opportunity to prove he can stay healthy and hit the free agent market again next year with a chance to cash in.

If Darby can, in fact, stay healthy, the Eagles get a high-level corner who has played very well when able to be on the field and solidify a cornerback corps they hope will be a strength in 2019.

Darby is continuing to rehab a torn ACL he suffered last November. He hopes to be ready for Week 1, although there are reports that he could miss the first few weeks of the season.

The 25-year old had garnered some interest from the Kansas City Chiefs, but ultimately ended up back with the Eagles on a “prove it” deal. The move is relatively low risk-high reward for the Eagles, while Darby gets an opportunity to stay in a familiar situation as he bets on himself.
