Howie Roseman has been going through his offseason check-list one-by-one and making sure his 2019 roster has very minimal holes.
- Replace Tim Jernigan with another dominate defensive tackles? Check✓
- Replace Jordan Hicks with a linebacker with potential? Check✓
- Grab a speedy wide receiver for Carson Wentz to throw bombs to? Check✓
Now the next thing on his list will be to add a running back that can establish himself as a lead back for the Eagles in 2019. The Eagles might be trying to contact the San Francisco 49ers to help Howie Roseman check this box.
49ers have talked to the Eagles about a trade. All I got on that.

(For the record: I don’t know who Frank Martin is, but he has a blue check mark so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt)
With the 49ers recently acquiring Tevin Coleman, and then signing Raheem Mostert to a three-year deal, suddenly Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida’s spots on the roster aren’t as secured as they were before the new league year started. The Eagles might be talking to the Niners about these guys, but Frank doesn’t know many details with these trade discussions so far so we can’t be certain who or what is being discussed.
We’ll have to wait and see if these talks develop into something more, or if it’s just casual chats.
