Fletcher Cox Takes Pay Cut to Remain an Eagle

The Eagles are keeping the key members of the locker room. After re-signing Jason Kelce and James Bradberry, the team is also bringing back Fletcher Cox on a one-year deal.

Cox had already been paid $118 Million in cash so far in his career, which is the most money an Eagle has ever made. He’ll add $10 Million to his net worth with this one-year deal, a $4 Million decrease from the $14 Million deal he signed last offseason.

Cox’s six Pro Bowl honors are tied for 5th-most in Eagles history, behind only Chuck Bednarik (8), Brian Dawkins (7), Jason Peters (7) and Reggie White (7).

So far in his Eagles career Cox has registered 65.0 sacks, which are the 5th-most in team history and the most by an interior pass rusher.

The signing has helped make sure there is a veteran presence in the interior of the d-line. With Javon Hargrave’s departure, the Eagles now have Cox, Milton Williams, Jordan Davis, and Marlon Tuipulotu as the DTs signed on the 2023 roster.

Cox has currently played in 173 games as an Eagle, which has him 7th in team history. If he can play in all 17 games this season he would pass the current record holder (David Akers - 188 games played). He might finish in 3rd place though, as Brandon Graham (178 games) and Jason Kelce (176 games) are ahead of Cox.
