Today the Eagles provided some depth at the linebacker position, signing former Steeler L.J. Fort to a three year deal.
Fort will provide a lot of help in the special teams game, but he does have some experience at the linebacker position. In 61 career games, Fort has recorded 65 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 9 QB hits, 3 sacks, 7 passes defended, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception.
Fort likely won't be taking over Jordan Hicks'role that is vacant. Instead, he likely fills the role of LaRoy Reynolds and/or D.J. Alexander, who are both currently free agents after playing the 2018 season in Philly on special teams.
