With Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor already trying to heal from injury, and now with WR Bryce Treggs joining the injury report this week, the team needed to add a receiver to run some of the drills at practice and maybe get some playing time in the last preseason game. With that in mind, the Eagles looked right next door and found a capable player. Today they signed WR Darius Prince from the AFL's Philadelphia Soul to a contract.
Prince made a splash in the 2017 AFL postseason, which was his first action of any professional football. He scored two touchdowns in ArenaBowl XXX and came home with MVP honors from that game.
The Eagles brought in Prince last week for a workout. Once Treggs went down with an injury in Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots, the Eagles were ready to bring him in as a replacement. It'll be interesting to see how Prince adjusts from the AFL to the NFL.
