Eagles Finally Add Two Legends to their Hall of Fame

Updated: Apr 10, 2019

During halftime of last night's Eagles-Steelers game, Eagles CEO and Chairman Jeffrey Lurie announced that former teammates DL Clyde Simmons and LB Seth Joyner will be heading into the Eagles Hall of Fame together at halftime of the Eagles-Colts game on September 23rd.

This should come as no surprise, as Eagles fans who watched these two players dominate opposing offenses in the late 1980s-early 1990's have been wondering for years why neither player had been inducted yet. Both Simmons and Joyner have impressive resumes: Clyde is 3rd on the Eagles all-time sacks list, and Seth is the only player in NFL history with at least 50 sacks and at least 20 interceptions.

Once Simmons and Joyner are immortalized into the Eagles Hall of Fame next month, there will be only one more honor left for them to reach: receiving their gold jackets and getting enshrined in Canton, Ohio.
