The Eagles returned to practice today, and unfortunately there were several players that were unable to participate. There were, however, some players that we able to practice today after being labeled limited in yesterday’s walk-though, which is a positive sign.
Alshon Jeffery (calf), DeSean Jackson (abdominal strain), Dallas Goedert (calf), Corey Clement (shoulder), Tim Jernigan (foot), Johnathan Cyprien (knee), and Jordan Mailata (back) were all unable to practice today. At this point, it is safe to say that we can expect Jackson, Goedert, Clement, and Jeffery to all be out of the Lions game this weekend, even though we were told their status was listed as day-to-day yesterday. We need players like Mack Hollins, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Alex Ellis and Miles Sanders to really step in and make plays this Sunday with Jackson, Jeffery, Clement and Goedert out.
The good news is that Derek Barnett (shoulder), Fletcher Cox (toe), and Nathan Gerry (knee, calf) all returned to full practice today after being limited in yesterday’s walk-though. Nate Sudfeld (left wrist) was also a full participant in yesterday’s walk-though and he was a full participant again today. Rudy Ford (hamstring) and Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) were still limited in practice, but rumor has it that Grugier-Hill may be back on the field for the Eagles for Thursday Night Football against Green Bay.
Yesterday’s injury list was long, and it still is, but it is encouraging to see so many players participating in practice. I don’t see how any of the players injured in the Falcons game will play on Sunday, but we can hope they will return for the Green Bay game.
