Eagles Sign Andrew Sendejo For Safety Depth

With Corey Graham likely retiring this offseason (and him not performing well in general last season) the Eagles found themselves in need of a 3rd safety for the 2019 season.

They decided to sign former Viking Andrew Sendejo to fill that role.

Sendejo is a seasoned vet, playing in 95 games he has recorded 421 tackles, 27 passes defended, and 6 interceptions. He is probably most known by Eagles fans for getting run over by LeGarrette Blount in the NFC Championship Game in 2018.

At 31 years old, Sendejo isn't a flashy signing or someone to get too excited about bringing to Philadelphia. But his presence will allow Jim Schwartz to feel comfortable to move Malcolm Jenkins around on defense and put Rodney McLeod and Sendejo back deep. This move also won't prevent the team from bringing in a safety during the draft next month if they want to invest in young safety to start learning under all of the team's veteran defensive backs.
