Eagles Sign Jason Peters to One-Year Contract

The bodyguard is back!

Today the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they are bringing back their left tackle for one more season.

Peters' future was up in the air, as it was previously unclear if he would retire, or if the team would move on and get younger at the position. They still have Jordan Mailata in the background developing his game to possibly take over in 2020.

The future hall-of-famer played in all 16 games in 2018, but missed parts of 11 games due to biceps and quad injuries. With father time taking its toll, Mailata or Halapoulivaati Vaitai will need to be ready to step in if Peters has to miss time.

Peters has played in 127 games in midnight green, which puts him at 27th all-time in Eagles history. If he is able to suit up for all 16 games, he will be in sole possession of 16th place in games played.
