Eagles & Texans Announce Final Injury Reports for Sunday's Game

Writer's picture: Andrew W.Andrew W.

Ever since Week 1, the Eagles have been hindered with injuries. Now as Week 16 approaches, there are still a handful of Eagles players who are dealing with injuries that are affecting their availability.

The Eagles will be without at least three players on Sunday, and have four players who are listed as questionable.

  • Carson Wentz is dealing with a fractured vertebrae, and with Nick Foles appearing to be running the ship without a hitch, the team would be wise to sit him for the remainder of the season. Even if there is some way the Eagles end up making the playoffs, it would be an idiotic move if Pederson were to take a red-hot Foles out of the lineup just to see what a less than 100% Wentz can do in his first playoff action.

  • It was easy to tell Sidney Jones wasn't fully healthy in the Cowboys game Week 14. If he isn't 100% healthy, Deshaun Watson will be throwing deep in his direction the entire 60 minutes.

  • Isaac Seumalo had been pretty reliable in recent weeks before his pec injury, but now Stefan Wisniewski will return to the Left Gard position that he started at to begin the season.

  • D.J. Alexander is a key special teamer and was the one who recovered the fumble against the Rams to help the team waste more game clock. Him possibly being out would be a big hurt to that part of the game.

  • Tim Jernigan had back spasms which kept him out against the Redskins Monday Night game three weeks ago, and hasn't played since. Due to his contract being no-longer guaranteed, there is a chance we might have seen the last of Jernigan as an Eagle.

  • Michael Bennett will be questionable. He has been listed as questionable for the past three weeks with a foot injury too and ended up playing in all of those games. Unless there is a serious setback, he should be good to play.

  • Cre'Von LeBlanc is a late addition to the injury report. LeBlanc has been a pleasant surprise and has been playing pretty well considering his and the team's circumstances. If he can't go De'Vante Bausby will likely be the beneficiary of LeBlanc's snaps.

The Texans will be without at least one player on Sunday, but also have six players who are listed as questionable.

OUT:

  • S Mike Tyson (concussion) is a back-up safety for the Texans. Him being out means that if Tyrann Mathieu goes down the Texans won't have any good depth players in their secondary left to take over.

Questionable:

  • WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) will do his best to make sure he doesn't miss this important game for the Texans that can decide their playoff seeding.

  • RB Lamar Miller (ankle) hasn't had a full practice all week, so if he does end up playing he'll likely be hampered with his ankle injury.

  • OG Senio Kelemete (elbow/rib/illness) is a starter on a Texans o-line that is terrible. If he can't go, his replacement will have his hands full with a mix of Fletcher Cox and Michael Bennett.

  • CB Johnathan Joseph (hip/illness) is a starting cornerback for the Texans. If he can't go Alshon Jeffery and/or Nelson Agholor will likely put up big numbers.

  • WR Keke Coutee (hamstring) has just 28 receptions due to his health failing him this season. If he can go, he'll likely not be at full speed, which benefits our secondary.

  • DT Brandon Dunn (ankle) is just a depth defensive lineman and wouldn't have too much impact on the game if he does end up being active.
