When Vegas opened the lines for the four Wild Card Weekend matchups, no team was listed as an underdog by more than 2.5 points.
Except one.
The Eagles opened as 5.5 point underdogs for their away game against the Bears, with the line further drifting to 6 by the New Year. While the famed underdog masks are unlikely to make a return, the line does draw parallels with the Eagles playoff run last season. Philadelphia were underdogs for three of their playoff matches; against the Falcons, Vikings and Patriots.
The line certainly is not unusual for a No. 3 seed vs. a No. 6. Especially taking into account the Bears league-best defense and the home-field advantage that Soldier Field provides, where Chicago have only lost one game this season.
But Nick Foles and the Eagles have shown that they operate best when they've got their backs against the wall and Vegas picking against them.
Hopefully, the line drifts further to 7 as the week progresses. I'll take the extra point when I inevitably load up - not that I'll have enough emotionally invested.
