It's not a secret that Eagles are in desperate need of a healthy running back. Ever since Le'Veon Bell held out from playing for the Steelers, he has been rumored to be the guy the Eagles would want. However, last night Adam Schefter shut down those rumors in his report, and now it looks like the Eagles will be targeting someone else to bring in.
According to NFL Insider John Clayton, the Eagles could be targeting someone like Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard.
Clayton also mentioned a cheaper option like C.J. Prosise from the Seattle Seahawks as a possibility for the Eagles.
Vice President of Player Personnel Joe Douglas was the Director of College Scouting for the Chicago Bears before joining the Eagles in 2016, so there is an obvious connection there for a trade to be possible.
Howard is also on his rookie contract until 2019, so his cap hit would be minimal and the Eagles could use most of the new cap space created by Fletcher Cox on help for the secondary.
