Opponent Injury Report: Key Buccaneers Players Could Miss Eagles Game

What appeared to be one of the Eagles “easier” matchups of the season may be a bit more difficult than most fans initially believed. Coming off a monster game versus the Saints in New Orleans, the Buccaneers are flying high behind, of all people, Ryan Fitzpatrick. The 15-year veteran pulled off an impressive showing which could make for a battle in Week 2. Tampa Bay sustained some heavy blows though, most notably in possibly losing DeSean Jackson to a concussion.

Jackson is an opponent Philadelphia is very familiar with, as he seemingly burned the Eagles each game for years on the Washington Redskins. Jackson is coming off a career game which included 5 catches for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. The speedy Jackson suffered a concussion in the 4thquarter, putting his Week 2 status up in the air. The Bucs will look to rely on Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries should Jackson miss the game against Philadelphia.

On the defensive side of the ball, Tampa Bay is incredibly thin at DB. After adding De'Vante Harris to IR, Brent Grimes was added to the injury report late.

Groin injuries can be lingering issues and his status is currently unknown for the Week 2 matchup.

Vernon Hargreaves III also suffered an injury late in the win against the Saints, and his status is also questionable versus the Eagles.

The 3rd-year corner has played well and could cause trouble for the Eagles wide receivers should he suit up Sunday.

Vita Vea was the number 12 overall pick in this year's draft for the Buccaneers, but has not seen the field in some time.

It seems likely he will not play against the Eagles Week 2, which could mean for a better matchup for our offensive line, who will square off against a couple of familiar faces in Beau Allen and Vinny Curry.

The Eagles look to get off to a hot start on Sunday versus the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.
