Yesterday's news of Carson Wentz's injury came with an interesting "report" from 97.5 The Fanatic's Jason Myrtetus.
WOW. What a bombshell! The Eagles knew Wentz had a fracture in his back and hid it from him. If I were Wentz, I’d want out. I’d be lawyering up. The NFLPA would be launching an investigation and doctors on the Eagles medical staff would be losing their license to practice medicine. So where was Wentz yesterday when this news broke? Jogging on the practice field with his teammates.
What a guy Wentz must be to not let this bother him. Unless…unless it’s just not true? I got a phone call from my dad yesterday when he heard them talking about this on The Fanatic and my knee jerk reaction was “it can’t be true”. Then I saw the tweet and thought, “there’s just no way this can be true”. Hours went by and I waited with bated breath for some sort of report from a reputable source to corroborate this claim. It never came. Instead, it was the exact opposite.
I scoured the internet to see if anyone was saying anything similar to Myrtetus. The results? Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
So now? Frankly, I’m pissed. This is a hell of a claim to make using an anonymous source and not factually backing it up with anything. I waited to see if Myrtetus would possibly delete the tweet or issue some sort of apology. Instead, about 3 hours later he retweeted a video of Emmanuel Acho bashing the medical staff.
I will say this, I’m not endorsing this medical staff. It does seem like they’ve missed the mark this season to say the least. But first of all, Acho hasn’t played for the Eagles since 2015 and few of the medical staff from that season remain, so in my eyes he needs to stay in his lane as far as this matter is concerned. More importantly, how is it that no one seems to be talking about this? Does Myrtetus think he can just make wild claims on a whim with no repercussions?
No sir. Not on my watch. I bleed green and I want answers. This is not okay. The fact that I had to take time out of my day to ponder if our franchise QB might be bolting town because he was lied to when this claim appears to be fabricated is just plain unacceptable. This should not get swept under the rug. If Adam Schefter or Jay Glazer made a claim like this with no backing evidence, they’d be off the air so fast their heads would spin. Of course, they would never do that unless they were 100% sure something like this were true, because they know the implications and they are consummate professionals.
What say you Jason Myrtetus of 97.5 The Fanatic? Produce some sort of evidence, or issue an apology for throwing out click bait. Put your money where your mouth is. Eagles fan deserve better and personally, I’ll be waiting for you to address this and I’m all ears.
