After officially trading for DeSean Jackson earlier today, speculation began to grow about Nelson Agholor's future with the Eagles.
Philadelphia acquired Jackson and restructured his contract to give him $27 Million over the next three seasons (with $13 Million in guaranteed money). Nelson Agholor's $9.3 Million option goes into effect on Wednesday. Also tie in that Alshon Jeffery is set to make $14.7 Million this season, and suddenly the Eagles have dedicated a lot of cap space to their wide receivers.
Even with all of that money tied up in their pass catchers, Philly.com's Jeff McLane is reporting that Agholor is likely to remain an Eagle.
If they remain healthy for the 2019 season, the Eagles will have one of the best receiving corps in the NFL. DeSean Jackson will stretch the field and make sure that safeties have to follow him, meaning Nelson Agholor and Zach Ertz will have all the one-on-one freedom they'd ever dream of in the middle of the field, Alshon Jeffery will continue playing the same important role he has played the previous two seasons as being the go-to big receiver threat.
Carson Wentz will be going to bed tonight with a smile on his face.
