Back in August, the Eagles were considering making Darren Sproles their kick returner this season, as Kenjon Barner left in free agency.
However, Shelton Gibson took advantage of Sproles' absence in the preseason, and performed pretty well on the few returns he had. The team has decided to give Gibson first shot at doing it full-time this season, as he announced today the team picked him to be the starting kick returner.
If Gibson under-performs in the return game, the team can always look to bring back Barner, as he was released by the Panthers.
