“Where is Jay Ajayi?”
Last night everyone from local bars to the Twitter-verse was wondering where Jay Ajayi was during the first half. The Eagles scored only 3 points in the first half of the season opener, and Jay Ajayi saw only nine snaps. At that point, the running game and offense in general looked lost. Coming out in the second half, the Eagles fed Ajayi the ball and he ate.
In the first half, Jay Train carried the ball only three times versus the second half where he saw 12 carries. It’s also worth mentioning that Ajayi averaged 0.6 YPC more in the second half. Doug Pederson mentioned on Friday that he wanted to be careful with Ajayi, since he was battling a minor lower-body injury over the past couple of weeks. Pederson also said on Friday “Moving forward, we’ll see him (Jay Ajayi) more.” This is a great sign, not only for the health status of Jay Ajayi, but also for the Eagles offense while Wentz is out.
