Tim Jernigan Returns to Practice

Josh Naso

The Eagles got some good news as they kick off Dallas week, as defensive tackle Tim Jernigan participated in his first practice of the 2018 season.

Jernigan's return starts a 21-day period in which he can be added to the active roster at any time. If we reach the end of that window, the Eagles then have to put Jernigan on the active roster or he will not be eligible to return.

There has been speculation that a Jernigan return was imminent, and Monday's news is a clear indication that we could be getting closer to that happening. While expecting Jernigan to play Sunday night may be a stretch, his return to practice is an encouraging development. An active Jernigan would be a big boost to the defensive line depth, helping to keep everyone fresh, and could help Fletcher Cox continue his impressive season.
